The Lake Meyer Nature Center's Sunday programs are free and start at 2:00 PM unless otherwise noted.  The nature center is open to general visitors these same days from 1:00-5:00 PM.  In case of severe weather, please stay tuned to DC 100.5 or 104.7 KVIK for cancellations.

Lake Meyer Ice Fishing Derby

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m.

Ice Fishing  7:30 - 11:30

            Registration Fee - Adults $5.00                 Kids (15 & under) are Free

Join us at Lake Meyer Park for the 3rd annual Ice Fishing Derby.  Prizes will be awarded for the best catch in numerous categories with additional door prizes at the ed of the day.  All ages are welcome.  A great way to get outside and enjoy the beauty of our winter with family and friends.

2010 Lake Meyer Nature Center Winter Program Schedule

     The Lake Meyer Nature Center is offering several Sunday afternoon programs this coming winter season. They start at 2:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending a cross-country ski program, please pre-register if you want to use Lake Meyer’s ski equipment that includes skis, boots and poles. We can outfit children as well as adults. Most programs are free, excepting the bluebird house building program where a $5.00 donation per house is requested to cover lumber costs. If you have questions about a program, or want to pre-register for skiing, call the Winneshiek County Conservation Board at 563-534-7145.

                                 May 30................Spring Wildflowers on Hayden Prairie (12:45 p.m. from Lake
