Winneshiek County will be accepting applications for the position of “County Surveyor” for the Secondary Road Department until 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 4th at the office of the Winneshiek County Engineer, 201 W. Description: This position of County Surveyor oversees a field survey party engaged in establishing property lines, level work, bench marks, grades, curves, alignments and other road work necessitated in county road construction, maintenance and property survey; prepares plats, profiles, cross sections , maps, plats and other drawing drawings from statistical sources and photographs; prepares field notes and sketches to aid in preparation of plans; provides inspection of construction or repair operations; corrects existing plans and drawings to reflect current conditions; performs duties of Engineering Tech I through IV and other work as assigned. Reviews plats submitted for recording upon request of the County Auditor or County Engineer. Maintains records in the office of the County Engineer relating but not limited to GPS monuments, government corners, plats, etc. Locates existing right-of-way on the ground from documents of recorded field evidence. The County Surveyor must by a Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Iowa. Post-secondary education is preferred but not required. The County Suveryor is a union position.
Salary: $30.55/hr and benefits
